R.I.P.D.

R.I.P.D.
Nick, a cop on the verge of turning over gold that was taken from drug dealers, is double crossed by his friend and fellow police officer, Hayes. Reaching the hereafter, Nick is assigned to the R.I.P.D. a.k.a. the Rest In Peace Department, reporting to the no-nonsense Proctor and partnered with the Old West cowboy, and somewhat loose cannon, Roy. The two must work together to track down the destructive souls still on Earth and discover a larger plot that involves reversing the tunnel that souls travel through to the afterlife, sending malicious souls back, bringing about the apocalypse. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “R.I.P.D.”.

· Nick gets swept into the office with Proctor. In the farther view and in the closer, overhead view when Proctor says, “I want you to know I’m here to help you”, her right arm is down and her hand is touching the Fresca bottle on the desk. It cuts to a different view when she says, “I sat in that chair…”, and her arms are folded in front of her. She then proceeds to reach out and touch the bottle.

· The RIPD shield stars to burn in Nick’s skin. Nick takes his bulletproof vest off with his right hand and throws it behind him, to his right. It cuts to a wider view as he starts to follow Proctor and the vest is on the floor, to his left.

· Nick is watching Julia running on the track. An overhead view of her running shows there are six lanes and she’s running in lane three. It cuts to a close-up when Nick walks behind her, and she’s in lane four.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Nick and Roy are confronting Hayes at his house. In the wider view of the three as the house crumbles, Roy has his left arm outstretched with white insulation that’s fallen from the ceiling covering his wrist and part of his arm. It cuts to a close-up of Roy when he says, “powerful….”, and there’s nothing covering his arm.

“R.I.P.D.” (20vio13) stars Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, Stephanie Szostak, James Hong and Marisa Miller. It runs 96 minutes and is rated PG-13 for violence, sci-fi/fantasy action, some sensuality, and language including sex references.
